MINICOMPUTER (MIDRANGE COMPUTER)
Minicomputers are comparatively smaller in size and faster than personal computers. Minicomputers are large storage capacity and processes information at a very high speed. These types of computer are use as a server and number of working terminals. These are connected for user or programmer. These computer are useful for middle class organisation such as banks, data processing centers, business application, scientific application etc. These are used as a multi user system in which several user can use at the same time. The 32 bits minicomputer are called Supermini.
The capabilities of a minicomputers are somewhere between those of personal computer and mainframe computer. For this reason, minicomputers are often known as midrange computer.
